Terms of use

These terms govern your use of Kalmtools (kalmtools.com), a free set of small web tools run by Outside of the Fox. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

1. What you can do

You may use the tools freely for your own personal or business purposes, including on work you are paid for. Output you create with the tools, such as your compressed image, your QR code or your converted file, is yours. We claim no rights over it.

2. What you must not do

You must not, without our written permission:

1. copy, clone or reproduce the site or any substantial part of it;
2. republish or adapt our original content, layout or tool designs;
3. redistribute or resell access to the tools, or present them as your own service;
4. scrape, spider or use automated means to extract content or hammer the site;
5. attempt to obtain, decompile or reverse engineer the source code, except so far as the law does not allow us to restrict that;
6. remove or alter any copyright or ownership notice;
7. use our name, logo or branding without permission, or imply we endorse you;
8. use the tools for anything unlawful, or to process material you have no right to process.

3. The tools are provided as they are

The tools are free and provided "as is". We do not promise the site will always be available, error-free, or that any tool will produce a particular result. Please check anything important before you rely on it, and keep your own copy of any file you value. We are not responsible for lost work, lost files or lost time.

4. Your files

The tools run in your browser and your files are not uploaded to us. Because the processing happens on your device, you are responsible for keeping your own backups.

5. Accuracy and no professional advice

Nothing on this site is professional advice. The colour contrast checker, for example, is a helpful indicator and not a substitute for a full accessibility audit.

6. Our intellectual property

The site, its design, layout, code, wording and the Kalmtools name and branding belong to Outside of the Fox, and are protected by copyright and other rights. Some components are used under third-party open-source licences.

7. Links out

Where we link to other sites, we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, and because the service is provided free of charge, we are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of data, business interruption or indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site.

9. Changes and withdrawal

We may change, suspend or withdraw any tool or the whole site at any time. We may update these terms; the current version always sits on this page.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
